Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963 into the musically inclined family of Newark New Jersey is the daughter of the gospel singers Cissy Houston as well as John Russell Houston Jr. Also, she is the sister of singer Dionne Warwick. The singer began her singing career in the choir of the church she attended The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the early years of her childhood and at fifteen, she was singing back vocals professionally alongside her mother on Chaka Khans 1978 hit Im Every Woman. Jermaine, her mother and Lou Rawls were among the artists she backed up. Also, she was as a model for Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. Whitney Houston became the top-selling debut album for an artist in the year. The album contained several hit songs such as How Will I Know You Give Good Love Saving All My Love For you and The greatest Love of All. It helped her achieve seven US charts-topping singles in a row which was more than the Beatles. The album was sold out of three million copies in its first year in the US and then went on to make 25 million copies worldwide, earning them the first six Grammies. The album that followed it in 1987 Whitney featuring the hit songs Where Do Broken Hearts Go and I Wanna Dance With Somebody built on her success but it was her 1992 movie The Bodyguard (1992) that sealed her place as one of the best-selling artists of all time. Although her performance in the film as well as its soundtrack weren't popular but the Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and the accompanying album topped charts all over the world for several months. In 1993, it was also that she married Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition artist and father of her sole daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. At this point that her widely documented substance abuse began. By 1996, she was a regular drug user.
Dana Bash, also known by the name Dana Ruth Schwartz, is an American anchorwoman and journalist who serves as a political correspondent at CNN. The anchor has also created several of the network's Saturday shows such as Evans & Novak' Late Edition' and Inside Politics.' She has worked for other renowned channels in the past including NBC as well as CBS. Bash has been awarded numerous awards as well as a spot at the top of the Women in Washington Power List published by Elle magazine.
